Citizens' TQM Team Collects Food to Restock Local Food Pantry

Citizens National Bank is kicking off a food drive to aid in the restocking of The Good Shepherd Food Pantry in Elkins. Non-perishable food items may be donated at drop-off bins at CNB’s Elkins and Beverly offices thru December 31.

Items needed include canned fruit and vegetables, canned meat, pasta and other non-perishable goods. The Good Shepherd supplies food for those in need in Randolph County.

Citizens National Bank’s food drive is being orchestrated by ‘The Fine Nine,’ one of the bank’s Total Quality Management (TQM) teams. The bank is comprised of eleven TQM teams, each responsible for at least one community or civic activity annually. “Charity aimed at helping our less fortunate neighbors, especially this time of year, is important,” said Sharon Sutton, The Fine Nine team leader. “Our team wants to make a difference by partnering with The Good Shepherd Food Pantry to provide the makings for a meal when someone has hit hard times.”

The food pantry’s stock is greatly diminished after a Thanksgiving holiday having served dozens of families and individuals. “Your contributions of non-perishable food items would be most appreciated,” Sutton further stated. “We all can work together for a common cause – to help feed the hungry in our area.”

Citizens National Bank’s Fine Nine Members include Sharon Sutton, Leslie Fletcher, Janice Thompson, Marsha Worden, Brenda Wilfong, Missy Channels, Cindi Howard and Sue Morgan. Their “Guiding Light” management mentor is Carla Fisher, VP/Human Resources.

Citizens National Bank, with assets of $212 million, is a full service bank with trust and investment services. With the main office in Elkins, they have branches in Beverly, Parsons, Petersburg, Snowshoe and Marlinton.
